What is Hot and Cold Therapy?

Hot and cold therapy involves transitioning from our wood-burning sauna to our cold plunges or cold shower. This cycle of hot to cold, repeated until your body is in a state of complete relaxation, has been practiced for thousands of years in Nordic cultures and offers numerous health benefits. How Long is the Recommended Hot/Cold Cycle?

We recommend starting with a test round. Begin boldly with a 5-10 second cold plunge, warm up in the sauna for 5-15 minutes, then rest by the fire for 10-15 minutes. Repeat this cycle, increasing your cold plunge time to 1-3 minutes if possible. Remember, everyone’s tolerance is different, so adjust the times to suit your comfort level.
